Our Story
Off The Cliff began with a family recipe. Our original hot sauce (habanero peppers, local garlic, lemon juice, vinegar and salt) was tested by friends and family for over 10 years before it ever went into a bottle.
The flavours come from Trinidad & Tobago and West Indian home cooking, where heat is there to carry flavour, not cover it up. Today we grow our own habanero, jalapeño and red Shepherd peppers (topping up with Ontario-grown red Shepherds when our harvest runs short) and turn them into sauces and spice blends in small batches in Havelock, Ontario. Our Every T’ing Spice is a blend we’ve been making for decades, and our Canadian Curry was created for the friends and family who wanted all the flavour of a curry without the heat.
Along the way came the bees. We’re based in Havelock, and our hives are spread across the countryside around us. Our honey is raw, natural and unpasteurized: Ontario Grade No. 1 golden wildflower honey, from our backyard to your table.
Today, Off The Cliff is about two things done properly: real heat, and real honey.
No mass production. No shortcuts. Just flavour with a story.
